Before Tony Smith managed Phill Collins

Before Tony went on to manage Phill Collins and many others, Tony managed the Band ‘Train’ that I was a member of with Brian James

Tony got us some great gigs, like opening for King Crimson at the Lyceum in the Strand. ‘Train’ sounded good but Brian and I were a little wild and into the alternative culture of the time, Tony lost interest.

Circa 1969 the band changed its name to ‘Taiconderoga’ to make a commercial release. The B-side ‘Speakin’ My Mind’ had some chart success in Germany.
